| Nestled at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains just 15 miles west of Charlottesville, Virginia, is Old Trail. An 18-hole, par 72 regulation course, Old Trail was designed to conform to the natural features of the land. Described as a “core course,” residential neighborhoods will be developed outside the boundaries of the course. In addition, over 70 acres of land are dedicated to the restoration of indigenous grasses. Stewardship of both the land and the game of golf is the guiding principle of Old Trail. Fashioned after the first Scottish clubs, this magnificent course offers public access as well as a limited number of founding member privileges. |
A true test for the best of players, but also pleasureable for all skill levels, multiple tees provide a range of lengths. Back tees offer a challenging 6,914 yards, with middle tees at 6,220 and forward at 5,213 yards. Tees and greens are Bent-grass, and fairways sodded with Zoysia. The first rough is a Bluegrass-Fescue mix with the second rough comprised of various restoration and reclamation species. |
Above is the layout of the course itself...the only thing you can't see is the majestic mountain backdrop. It's possible for you to call this your "home" because Old Trail Village is adjacent to the course. Click here for more information about the golf portion of Old Trail Village. |
